With only 68 days until the big guy makes his appearance, it’s time to get thinking about Christmas.
While we’ve been busy filling floor-standing FSDU’s and wonderful in-store displays with Christmas goodies, we wanted to turn our attention to something a little more hands-on for this post and what better than a Christmas Cracker!
We design and produce a range of bespoke crackers, which we hand-fill with your own personalised or hand-selected gifts.
We think these make the perfect client gift, table decoration for the staff party or even an innovative branded giveaway over the festive period. Everyone loves to receive something a bit different, so why not send crackers instead of cards, box them up with your own festive flair. Or even donate a special surprise to your local care home or hospital.
One of our favourite ideas comes from our client Drinks in a Tube who produce party crackers filled with tubes of your favourite tipple, with these stunning designs perfectly executed by our in-house production team.
Drinks, chocolate, promotional branded items…whatever you fancy we can make a reality, managing everything from the design to gift sourcing.
Or make it a Christmas they’ll never forget with a giant cardboard cracker for your store, reception or a huge filled treat for your office party… that would certainly get your Christmas cracking!
FMCG brands and retailers alike favour quarter pallet displays to promote, move and sell high volumes of stock in large fast-paced stores.
These highly visible shop floor units initially attract customers with creative artwork to support brand and offer messaging, opening up a great opportunity for cross-purchase potential.
There are several advantages to these popular display methods, which include:
- Reduced storage space required
- Units can be pre-filled and delivered to store (minimal store compliance required), or flat packed and shipped in bulk (cost-effective shipping method)
- Easily manoeuvred around the store – single door access
- Floor displays have been shown to boost sales in primary and cross-sale purchase as can hold a range of products and display a link-save offer
- Excellent opportunity for branding using both header and side panels
Our industry leading team are on hand not only to produce the final display units, but to create your in-store vision with a digital mock-up prior to production see here for further info on this service.
At Wilmot Budgen we design, create, produce, fulfil and deliver all under one roof so get in touch today to see how we can help with your next quarter pallet display.
We’re delighted to welcome a new face into the Wilmot-Budgen team, and wanted to extend a very warm welcome to Neil Wood… and what better way to welcome someone than to put them on the spot for a quick fire Q&A!
So Neil, tell us a bit about your background:
Well I’ve spent the last 14 years specialising in litho production for C&F Solutions. My print background covers a wide range of products and services, but long run commercial print has been my bread and butter for many years.
What attracted you to coming to work with the Wilmot-Budgen team?
We’ve crossed paths a few times as you tend to do in the print world, and the reputation that Wilmot -Budgen have in the industry is tough to argue with. A professional outfit producing some really high calibre work for big name clients is going to be a draw for anyone.
What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
Undoubtedly, it’s the challenge of changing the perception that we’re not just display print. The introduction of the the B1/B2 presses mean that we really can offer clients a complete solution all under one roof. I want to help push the Wilmot-Budgen name out there so that existing and prospect clients know they can use us not only for display work, but for all their promotional and internal materials as well. The more we can do, and the easier we make it for them, the better.
Who would be your dream client?
All Of My Clients !! Ha Ha !! I work with some big names already who have come with me over to Wilmot-Budgen and they are all great people to deal with.
And lastly anything we need to know about you? What makes you tick?
To work hard and have a huge determination to achieve high sales results, and lastly to enjoy doing it in the process!!
There’s nothing we like more than turning our client’s dreams into reality, but how do we do it? Where do we start? And how do our clients know what to expect?
Every project comes with a unique set of challenges, so to ensure we’ve covered every angle, our in-house studio team visualise each project before moving through to production. Every step of the process is taken care of under one roof by our highly specialised design, engineering and production team for a seamless result.
By creating these incredible 3D renders of the final unit, prior even to ordering material, we are able to check every element of the design stage works from the graphics on the unit, to the complex cardboard mechanics behind it.
This way our clients can see exactly what they can expect from the final delivery, saving valuable time money… and a few headaches along the way.
Applying this detailed level of creativity in the early stages allows us to bring concepts to life with results that are almost identical to the finished product.
Don’t believe us? See for yourself…
Our technical expertise goes beyond the design and delivery of exceptional display units for our own clients, and we encourage collaboration with designers and agencies to advise how their designs could be adapted to make their product fit for purpose and work as a fully operational unit in-store.
This dedicated service is another way in which we aim to make life as easy as possible for our clients, and their agencies, and provides that extra level of confidence to go ahead and produce the finished unit.
Let us make your design dreams come true and challenge us with your next brief!
Allow us to introduce you to backlit posters that are quite frankly brilliant.
Backlit transparencies or backlit posters, are images printed onto a translucent-based material making it ideal for lightbox displays to illuminate your designs and capture your audience from afar.
Using the latest materials and printing inks, our backlit posters offer stunning vibrancy that lasts.
Our production process allows for easy colour correction, meaning we can achieve optimum clarity on ultra-sharp photographic images and colour-match products and skin tones resulting in a life-like photo finish.
Backlit displays are durable, high quality and can be produced in full colour or B&W so it’s easy to see why it’s popular with retailers, restaurants, exhibitors and interior displays.
Our in-house digital printing presses means we can offer standard print, laminated or Expanse backlit material (a Latex alternative). We’re not all POS and packaging, and a recent project for our local school gave us the opportunity not only to get our creative minds working overtime, but to let us go back to being kids again.
We were asked to help design and produce some working props for the school production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory – the ultimate creative test for a very demanding audience.
We set to work in our very own Wonker World to create some magical cardboard creations to bring the story to life.
From cardboard cut-outs:
To crazy creative set pieces inspired by the book:
We even had our own chocolate making machine which was rigged with electric motors to churn out chocolate on stage… every big kid’s dream!
Not only were we delighted to be able to support our local school and give the cast a little extra dusting of magic, but also test to our creative capabilities and see how far we could push the boundaries of corrugated cardboard display.
Cardboard makes the perfect prop piece – creative and cost effective with the added bonus of being crushed and recycled at the end of the show or event.
We’d love to help you with any weird and wonderful ideas you may have – from a product launch, party or event right through to window dressing, show or set design.
If being a part of Willy Wonker’s world has taught us anything in the last couple of weeks it’s that nothing is impossible…
Stand out in store with a range of beautifully designed eye-catching packaging.
Whether your products are shelf bound or displayed in your own customised POS, it’s all about about drawing the eye away from the competition to inspire a purchase and have your customers take away a piece of your brand.
Our creative team can help lead you through the process from concept development and renders; to material selection and special finishes; development and production; through to fulfillment and delivery.
We recently collaborated with FujiFilm to produce various POS and packaging assets, which really showcase our creative (and production) services.
The result was a striking display of vibrant colours and angled edges applied to corrugated cardboard – an eye-catching combination that was destined to get them noticed at this year’s Interpack 2017.

We recently had the opportunity to apply our creative thinking to the walls of Wilmot Budgen. With a chance to redesign the entrance to our digital print building – B3, the team couldn’t wait to create a transformation.
Creative minds collaborated and conjured up a design that used mixed media to showcase our branding and the tools of our trade!
Vibrant colours and neon lighting emerge from faux brickwork giving the entrance a warm glow and an even warmer welcome.
We gave old ink pots a new lease of life, applying them to the wall to create an array of colour reminiscent of projects old and new.
We’ve got an ink-ling you’ll agree the result is pretty awesome…
Pop in for a cuppa and we’ll welcome you to – B3!
We care about our local community here in Coulsdon and that’s why we teamed up with the London Ambulance Service to help save lives.
Having completed defibrillation training, the team at Wilmot Budgen are proud to be educated in saving the lives of those experiencing a cardiac arrest.
Defibrillators are devices that deliver high energy electric shocks to the heart – an essential step in the chain of events during a heart attack, that can ultimately lead to survival.
”In the event of a cardiac arrest, a defibrillator can help save a life” – Lynsey, London Ambulance Medical Professional
We all know the importance of first aid among the workplace, but being able to offer our help to the local community in a time of emergency for cardiac arrest is something we’re incredibly proud of.
